When I first saw this short, we were recovering from the third round of hurricanes in three months. We lost everything, including any sense of safety and stability and home we had forged.
I saw this short, in the theatre, and cried my eyes out. We were basically homeless, living in a shell of our condemned home with nothing but a tarp for a roof, mold everywhere, and walls crumbling because we had nowhere to go (our insurance bailed and FEMA is a joke).
We spent the next 11 months rebuilding using our own money and our own two hands. It broke us.
We fixed everything just in time for the next round of hurricanes.
Bound and rebound. I kept this short in mind even as we lost our home for good. Things were bound to get better.
